Last updated: August 25, 2026

Information We Collect

Clipdget does not collect personal data or send it to us, advertisers, or analytics providers.

Data Stored on Your Mac

  • Your Library: Categories, snippets, favorites, and usage statistics are stored locally in Clipdget's protected app container.
  • Widget Preferences: Your selected content, layout, and theme are stored locally so the widget can display your choices.
  • App Settings: Preferences such as your Quick Palette shortcut are stored locally for your personal use.

Optional iCloud Sync

  • iCloud sync is off by default and only starts when you enable it in Clipdget Settings.
  • When enabled, Apple's iCloud service synchronizes your snippet library between Macs signed in to your Apple Account.
  • Synced data is stored in your private iCloud account. Clipdget's developer cannot access it.
  • You can turn iCloud sync off at any time. A local copy remains available on your Mac.

Clipboard and Accessibility Access

  • Copying: Clipdget writes a saved snippet to the clipboard only when you choose to copy it.
  • Clipboard Variables: Clipdget reads the current clipboard only when you explicitly use a template containing the {{clipboard}} variable.
  • No Clipboard History: Clipdget does not continuously monitor, record, or analyze your clipboard history.
  • Direct Paste: The optional macOS Accessibility permission is used only to paste a snippet after you request that action. Clipdget does not log your keystrokes.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics providers.

If you enable iCloud sync, Apple processes the synchronized data to provide that service under the Apple Privacy Policy.

Data Security

Your data is protected by:

  • macOS App Sandbox and system security protections.
  • Private app and App Group containers for local storage.
  • Apple's iCloud security when optional synchronization is enabled.

Your Rights

You can:

  • View, edit, export, or delete categories and snippets inside Clipdget.
  • Disable iCloud sync from Clipdget Settings.
  • Remove Clipdget's Accessibility permission in macOS System Settings.
  • Remove or reconfigure the widget through macOS.
